Pink - M!ssundaztood

This one was released on november 20, 2001 by Arista Records. Steven sings a duet with Pink on Misery. Other Aerosmith related artists on the album are Marti Frederiksen and Richie Supa. Other artists on the album are Richie Sambora and Linda Perry.

The tracks on Pink's other album were more R&B songs than on this album. This album concentrates more on Pink's rock background. Thanks to Linda Perry who helped writing and produced 7 tracks. The other tracks on the album are still R&B.

 

Carole King - Love Makes The World

This one was released on September 25, 2001 by Rockingale Records. Steven sings on Monday Without You, that was written by Mark Hudson, King and Paul Brady. It was recorded in NYC in August, 2000. Mark Hudson, who've wrote some Aerosmith songs wrote 3 tracks of the album.

 

Lit - Atomic

This one was released on October 16th, 2001 by RCA. Steven sings on Over My Head. The album was produced by Glen Ballard, the man that also produced Nine Lives, but was replaced by Kevin Shirley.

Before Over My Head was on this album, it was released bon the Titan A.E. soundtrack. See below.

 

Various Artists - Titan A.E. Soundtrack

This one was released on June 6, 2000 by Capitol Records for the movie Titan A.E. Steven did background vocals on Lit's song Over My Head. Over My Head was produced by Glen Ballard.

 

Bob Marley: Chant Down Babylon

This one was released on November 16, 1999 by Universal Records, Island Records, Def Jam Records and Tuff Gong Records. The album was produced by Stephen Marley, Bob's son. Stephen mixed the new versions with the older ones from his father. Steven sings on Roots, Rock, Reggae, a duet with Bob Marley and Joe Perry on guitar. It was recorded in the Boneyard in January 1999. The original version of Roots, Rock, Reggae was released on the Bob Marley & The Wailers album Rastaman Vibration, which was his breakthrough album released in 1976.

 

Martin Mull - Mulling It Over

This one (Mulling It Over: A Musical Oeuvre-View Of Martin Mull) was released on August 25, 1998 by Razor & Tie Records. Steven sings background vocals on Do The Dog. The original version of Do The Dog was released in 1975 on Martin Mull's album Day Of Wine And Neuroses.

This one (COL 491384 2) was released on June 23, 1998 by Columbia Records. It features four Aerosmith songs: I Don't Want To Miss A Thing, What Kind Of Love Are You On, Sweet Emotion and Come Together. Of course, Steven plays on those songs, but his outside Aerosmith recording is Animal Crackers. Steven sings a part of I Don't Want To Miss A Thing, followed by a conversation between Liv Tyler and Ben Affleck from the movie (the part were Ben plays with an Animal Cracker on Liv.

 

Ring Starr - Verticle Man

This one was released on June 16, 1998 by Mercury Records. Steven sings background vocals on Mindfield and La De Da. He plays harmonica and sings background vocals on Love Me Do and I Was Walkin'. And he plays drums on Drift Away. It was planned that Steven would sing lead vocals on Drift Away along with Ringo Starr and Alanis Morissette. But Sony records forbid that because it would be a hit and it would take the "heat" away from I Don't Want To Miss A Thing. Because of that, Tom Petty replaced the lead vocals.

 

Richie Sambora

This one was released on March 23, 1998 by Mercury Records and was the follow up to Bon Jovi's lead guitarist Richie Sambora's first solo album Stranger In Town, released in 1991. Steven played harmonica on If God Was A Woman.

 

Elmopalooza

This one was released on March 3, 1998 by Sony Wonder Records. Steven sings I Love Trash.

 

Marry Me Jane - Tick

This one was released on august 26, 1997 by 550 Music Records. Steven sings background vocals on I'm That Bad. He also supplied assorted cocktail party chit-chat during the guitar solo on I'm That Bad. Steven's part was recorded in NYC at the Baby Monster Studios. Marry Me Jane toured with Aerosmith for the North American part of the Nine Lives tour of 1997.

 

Kerouac-Kicks Joy Darkness

This one was released on April 8, 1997 by Rykodisc Records. Steven is on Dream: US Kids Swim Off A Grey Pier... The albums contains poems by Jack Kerouac performed over music.

 

The Left Banke - There's Gonna Be A Storm

This one (There's Gonna Be A Storm: The Complete Recordings 1966-1969) was released on May 5, 1992 by Mercury/Polygram Records. This album contains The Left Banke Too, an album of The Left Banke wich features Steven Tyler singing background vocals on Nice To See You, My Friend Today and he sings background vocals and plays tambourine on Dark Is The Bark.

 

Mötley Crüe - Dr. Feelgood

This one was released on September 15, 1989 by Elektra Records. Steven sings background vocals on Sticky Sweet. Steven is also the co-arranger of Slice Of Your Pie.

When Aerosmith was recording pump in the Little Mountain Studios. Mötley Crüe was in the next studio with producer Bob Rock, who co-engineered Permanent Vacation.

 

Alice Cooper - Trash

This one was releasen on July 25, 1989 by Epic Records. Steven sings background vocals on Only Me Heart Talkin'. The song starts with Steven doing background vocals, but ends with a duet between Steven and Alice. Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer are also on the album.

 

Run-DMC - Raising Hell

This one was released in November, 1986 by Profile Records. It contains an Aerosmith cover Walk This Way. Steven sings along with Run DMC (Run, DMC and Jam Master Jay) on Walk This Way and Joe Perry plays guitar on that song.

 

Frankie Miller - Double Trouble

This one was released in 1978 by Chrysalis Records. Steven sings leadvocals, background vocals and plays harmonica. It's hard to tell on wich songs Steven is, because the credits just say "Background singers - Stephen Tyler...", but probably he sings on You'll Be In My Mind, Love Is All Around and Goodnight Sweetheart. And he probably plays harmonica on Love Waves.

 

Artful Dodger - Babes On Broadway

This one (Columbia 34846, USA LP) was released in 1977 by Columbia Records. Steven sings background vocals on Alright. The album is the third of Artful Dodger. Derek St. Holmes is also on the album. The album is also released on CD by Artful Dodger Records, but the name of the CD is now Jester.

 

Martin Mull - Days Of Wine And Neuroses

This one (Capricorn 0155, USA LP) was released in 1975 by Capricorn Records. Martin Mull was an actor in Roseanna and made a series of comedy albums. Steven sings background vocals on Do The Dog

 

The Left Banke - The Left Banke Too

This one was released in November, 1968 by Smash Records. Steven sings background vocals on Nice To See You and My Friend Today and he sings background vocals and plays tambourine on Dark Is The Bark.

 

Chain Reaction - You Should Have Been Here Yesterday / Ever Lovin' Man

This one was released in 1966 by Verve Records (part of Columbia Records, wich now is Sony). Chain Reaction was Steven's first band that recorded something. The band recorded two 45 singles. This is the second one that they recorded.

 

Chain Reaction - The Sun / When I Needed You

This one was released in 1966 by Date Records (part of Columbia Records, wich now is Sony). This is the first of two 45 singles they recorded. When I Needed was later released on Pandora's Box in 1991. The recording of The Sun took three weeks because Steven wanted it to be perfect. When I Needed You was recorded in fifteen minutes.
